Class Of The Month!
Pilates requires the following skills to perform:
Concentration – Focus on the muscles/ region being exercised
Centring – Focus on developing pelvic and scapula stabilisation. Improve holding time and Quality of contraction of primary stabilisers.
Control – Of all movements while maintaining the background stability. Incorporate into good postural control. Be able to maintain that postural control under increased load and movement conditions.
Flowing Movement – Work smoothly and efficiently. Maximum effort for minimum effort.
Precision – Work smarter not harder. Aim to reinforce maintenance of mid-range positions.
Breathing – Coordinate breathing with Inspiration/ Expiration.
