Nick says:

When and why did you start training?

I’ve been attending different gyms on & off for 25 years. Tried lots of different forms of exercise over the years, riding, jogging (few fun runs inc. the City to Surf in Sydney), Tough Mudder, Eureka Stair climb etc, but for consistency, attending gym is my best option for year round exercise. I joined Spartans in 2014 after being a long-term member at another gym in Wantirna. Best decision I ever made 🙂

What is your greatest fitness achievements so far?

Gym wise doing well & dropping 6kg in last years Boot camp challenge. Was a great change up to normal gym floor routines & I pushed myself hard, stuck to the diet recommendations & did well throughout it.

Outside of gym, greatest challenge was to walk 250km for 17 days straight up & over the worlds highest pass at 5416 metres in Annapurna (Nepal) battling attitude sickness & sub zero conditions. Finishing it was a feeling of great accomplishment.

What are your future fitness goals?

Drop another 5kg & maintain that weight whilst training hard (in the new Altitude Room) to be in peak physical performance to do next hike to Everest Base camp next year.

What do you love about Spartans?

Everything !!! I’ve met & made some wonderful close friendships with an awesome group of people, met my future wife here, love the world-class equipment & facilities & the best coffee in Melbourne.

What made you join Spartans?

I had previously only considered Spartans a “Body Builders” gym. However after doing a tour in 2014 I saw there was a wide diverse group of people who attended & the price was great for what was on offer (also it’s just around the corner from home, very handy).

 What is your favourite exercise at Spartans?

Love the Boot Camps, but on the gym floor my favourite is the Circular Lat Pull Down machine.
